Founded in 2014 by Lori Mitchell, BS, RRT, Black Women in Technology (BWIT) stands as a beacon of empowerment and inspiration for Black women across the technology sector. From its inception, BWIT has been dedicated to uplifting and supporting Black women in their tech endeavors, providing a platform where they can flourish and make impactful contributions. Lori Mitchell, a visionary leader with a background in respiratory therapy and a passion for technology, recognized the need for a supportive community that addresses the unique challenges faced by Black women in the tech industry. Under her leadership, BWIT has grown into a thriving network that not only celebrates diversity but actively works to bridge the gap in representation and opportunities for Black women in technology.
